Mariette Chao
MSW, LCSW, CD (DONA)

I am located in Denver, Colorado where my husband and I are trying our hardest to raise two hilarious and wild little boys. I founded Marsolais Wellness after many years of running a private practice as a mental health therapist. The Covid Era turned me into a virtual-only therapist and I see clients in Colorado and Pennsylvania. As a certified doula, I support families in and around Denver, Colorado. I am passionate about supporting people in their transitions through life (and labor) and I would love to support you. In my work and life I have welcomed and will continue to welcome people with all quantities of melanin, all genders, all orientations, and all ethnicities. Joy and authenticity govern my work.

My Therapy Training and Experience: I earned my Masters of Clinical Social Work from New York University, and then was trained in a Yale University based model of family therapy doing in-home family systems therapy. My ongoing education has included focused work in: Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders, Adult ADHD, The Effects of Shame, Family and Couples Therapy, Grief, Executive Coaching, and Therapeutic Writing. I am an LCSW (licensed clinical social worker), and licensed in Pennsylvania and Colorado. More details about therapy work on the Therapy Services page.

My Doula Training and Experience: I am a DONA trained and certified birth doula and take on a select number of birth clients per year. I have supported families that are starting and growing in all sorts of ways: cesarean sections, vaginal births, induced births, and VBACs (vaginal birth after cesarean). I love supporting women as they birth the world. I became a mom via C-section and had a VBAC for my second birth with the support of a doula (my sister, Andrielle Marsolais) and so I know personally the impact of the role of a doula in the birthing room. It is no exaggeration to say that my life has been changed from the compassionate and direct work of my doula. Marsolais is a direct reference to my sister to always honor her impact on my life, and maybe, indirectly, on yours.
